Alliance Spacesystems is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer
The position of Senior Structures Engineer serves a critical function in the company by designing and analyzing critical flight structures such as optical benches, satellite bus structures, payload support structures, etc. Additionally the position advises management on topically relevant issues and supervises less experienced staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sr. Structures engineer works as part of a diverse team that may span several divisions. The engineer is involved in projects from the initial bidding phase through final delivery and interfaces with the customer on a regular basis. The engineer typically is responsible for a major segment of a project and must manage budget and schedule accordingly. It is also typical to have multiple projects of varying size and scope being worked concurrently. This position requires an engineer that is organized and efficient.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design and analyze flight structure.
- Lead project team efforts and interface with customer.
- Work on bid and proposal teams.
- Supervise other engineers.
- Collaborate with other engineers and/or organizations.
- Direct structures testing.
Job requirements:
- 15 years of experience with space flight structures.
- BS in structural/mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Significant experience as test director for structures testing.
- Expert in composite design and analysis.
- Trained in GD&T.
- SolidWorks experience desired.
- Nastran experience required.
- Ability to operate typical Office software products.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated team leadership and ability to foster a team environment.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
