Position Summary
Industry leader in design and manufacturing of highly engineered products in aviation and aerospace. The company products are used in aerospace, space, defense, commercial aviation, “down-hole”, robotic, nuclear, and high reliability industrial control applications.
The Principle Activities:
- Design solutions and manufacturing of frameless motors, transducers, and dampers
- Analyzing and maximizing motor performance
- Knowledge of equipment capabilities and processes
- Excellent writing, communication and people skills; with the ability to interact with clients
- Knowledge of evaluation and testing process
- Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments
- Working with winding configurations, control electronics, and drive techniques
- Component work with open loop positioning systems, incremental rate control systems, and limited angle rotary magnets
- Work with client engineering requirements
Requirements / Desired Experience:
- B.S. Degree, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years experience in Frameless Motor Design
- Strong technical background in modular motor configuration design
- Experience in Controllable Drive Actuators, Rotary Transducers and Eddy Current Dampers
- Capability with Brushless Permanent Magnet Motors
- Skills in winding configurations, control electronics, and drive techniques with AC Induction Motors
- Knowledge base with Stepper motors and high torque capacity
- Technical background with angular position, velocity, and acceleration on Rotary Transducers
- Capability with Eddy Current Dampers with angular rates, accelerations and radial loads
- Experience with client contact and coordination
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact
- Ability to organize and manage multiple project assignments
