This opportunity is for a Sr Product Designer on site at our client. As an employee of Productive Resources, you will be responsible for leading the design creations process. This can encompass design activity from concept creation through current product change control. Act as a leading figure in the product design process.

Duties
  • Design complex components or systems from a clean sheet of paper with little or no supervision.
  • Plan for overall project and component design timing.
  • Delegate and provide direction for smaller pieces of projects to supporting Product Designers.
  • Create 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Create 3D models to be used for FEA analysis, NVH Studies, and CDG fluid flow studies.
  • Be proficient with GD&T and tolerance stacks and their correct application for components and assemblies.
  • Ensure accuracy of models and prints for conformance and correctness to standards.
  • Maintain, and observe customer and internal data creation standards.
  • Maintain customer and supplier contact as required.
  • Support project quotes, various reports, layouts and studies.
  • Continue to stay current in training in the latest technology in CAD and awareness of modern manufacturing processes.
  • May require additional duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures (i.e. Quality System Procedures).

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or higher.
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Must be proficient in 2D drawing, 3D CAD design, GD&T, geometric and statistical stack-ups and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
  • Ability to read, analyze and comprehend detailed technical drawing and specifications.
  • Ability to create supporting reports through PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and peers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Driveline or powertrain experience
